McCain Foods are our global French fry supplier and since 1999, McCain has had a policy of not using genetically modified potatoes in any of their products — including those used to make the McDonald’s famous fries.

Our Answer McDonald’s South Africa (SA) potatoes are peeled using steam pressure. They are first washed with water in a barrel washer before being sealed inside the peeling machine and then compressed with steam. When the steam is released, the potato peels fall off.
