How do McDonald’s protect against E. coli?

Our Answer

Strict quality control procedures are enforced from farm to fork to eliminate food contamination. McDonald’s South Africa (SA) have rigorous quality control inspection and testing that take place from the time the animals are harvested, to the time their meat is served as products to our customers. This involves extensive laboratory testing and analysis of the raw meat at the slaughterhouses and processing facilities. In-store, sufficient cooking times and temperatures ensure that our meat patties are all fully cooked to destroy pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli.
